There are places that make you feel good as soon as you enter them. Places where every detail exudes a sense of calm, warmth, and care. Argia, a physiotherapy and personal performance centre in Azkoitia (Gipuzkoa), is one of them. But not just for the work they do, but also for how they do it… and for the environment they’ve created for it.

Our wooden furniture is not only designed to bring warmth to homes. Their functional design, use of sustainable wood and careful finishes also make them an ideal choice for professional environments. A good example is Argia, which has chosen our pieces to decorate its space.

Behind this project are two young people full of light -as its name suggests in Basque-: Jon Urresti and Aitor Oteiza. Argia was born from the meeting of these two professionals with different backgrounds, but with a common vision: to care for people from a holistic perspective and to create a welcoming, natural and friendly professional environment.

Aitor Oteiza and Jon Urresti, founders of Argia, whose motto is: “Bidea argituz, bizitza araldatuz” (Lighting the path, transforming life)

Jon, a physical trainer, started out in a small studio and at the local sports centre, but he always had a clear intention: “to create something bigger and multidisciplinary”. Aitor, a physiotherapist, shared the same dream. To furnish this project, both have trusted Astigarraga Kit Line, and we couldn’t be more proud to see how our sustainable wood furniture comes to life in these types of professional spaces.

Argia: a multidisciplinary, human, and different kind of centre

Argia is not just a physiotherapy and training centre. It’s a place where people are supported. Where health is understood as a balance between body, mind and environment. “Our aim is to offer personalised care from an integrative perspective”, they say.

Services include physiotherapy sessions, personalised training, small-group activities aimed at general health, injury recovery, online sessions, yoga, and more. All delivered with friendly, professional, and warm care.

Today, the team has grown with the incorporation of Peru and Andoni, who reinforce the areas of physical exercise and physiotherapy respectively.

The all-encompassing philosophy

One of the keys to ARGIA’s success is the teamwork of its staff. Jon describes Aitor as “very formal, disciplined, enthusiastic about his work, always considering every step he takes”. And Aitor, in turn, values Jon’s “discipline, daily perseverance, deep analysis, and contagious energy”.

This mutual understanding and respect is transferred to the way we work: fluid, coherent and always people-centred. As Aitor says: “We both mastered the technical side, but it’s often more important to understand that we’re dealing with people. Listen. Empathise. That’s what makes someone come here every day”.

Jon has also learned to value the process more than the results: “At first I was very focused on metrics, but now I value every moment, every session with every person. It’s not just about physical improvement, it’s about taking care of the whole person”.

Solid wood furniture that brings life to the space

ARGIA’s coherence lies not only in its philosophy, but also in the very space it has created. This is where our locally sourced wooden furniture comes into play. From the beginning, Jon and Aitor were looking for a natural, functional and warm environment.

We wanted to convey quality, and this type of wood does that”, says Jon. “Wood is something that is very popular, that’s why we chose Astigarraga Kit Line furniture. We were in the showroom looking at different options, we liked them and they fitted perfectly with the aesthetics we wanted for the centre”, explains Aitor.

The choice of furniture was carefully thought out. Coat racks, shoe racks, shelves, work tables and furniture from the DINAMIC series have been used in the physiotherapy area, as well as in the training room and office. All these pieces that we normally associate with homes, and that find a new meaning here. Because wood has the ability to make any space feel more inviting.

Our furniture is also approved for professional use and can be perfectly adapted to working environments, shops or schools. They are not only aesthetically pleasing: they are also strong, practical and durable.

“They are very functional and aesthetically they were a perfect fit for us. In the entrance, for example, we placed a coat rack that is welcoming and conveys order and warmth”, says Aitor.

Sustainable wood for a sustainable centre

Sustainability is also part of Argia’s values. “It is a plus that the furniture is sustainable. We are in favour of protecting the environment, which is where we live”, says Aitor.

For them, opting for sustainable wood is not a fad, but a responsibility. ARGIA shares with Astigarraga Kit Line values such as discipline, empathy, cohesion, communication and effort. And also the commitment to the environment.

A year of growth, shining on its own

ARGIA will turn one year old on 3 May 2025. And the balance could not be more positive. “We are very happy. We have been able to hire more people and that gives us more freedom to do what we like to do. In the beginning we did everything, and that creates a lot of stress. Now we can provide better, higher-quality service”, Jon says. “The response has been very good. We are growing month by month,” Aitor adds.

Beyond growth, what excites them is the bond with people. Jon sums it up like this: “I enjoy the day to day. That pregnant woman who comes every morning, and one day shows up with her newborn son to introduce him to you. That person who improves with each session and thanks you for it. That high-performance athlete who trusts in you”.

That daily connection has helped them grow as professionals and also as people. “I’ve learned to put myself in other people’s shoes, to empathise, to see how they think,” Jon confesses. Aitor concludes: “I feel more at ease every day. We’re achieving our goals without becoming obsessed, working calmly, and building a network of people who energise us. And that helps us to work with more quality”.

Towards a more complete future

The expansion of the project is on the horizon for Argia. “We would like to include new disciplines. Because we believe that the most appropriate way to care for a person is to offer them a comprehensive service”, says Jon. “We want to touch on other areas: psychology, nutrition, medicine… different health professionals to offer complete care. Because you have to understand the person as a whole, in all their complexity”, adds Aitor.

This is the path they’re forging: expanding without losing their core values, adding new specialities while preserving the personalised care and sense of closeness that has made Argia a unique centre in Azkoitia.

When wood and light meet

The result is a warm and functional centre, where every corner transmits well-being. Our furniture has the durability and quality needed to integrate into professional spaces, making it perfect for much more than just the home. This time it was a physiotherapy and personal performance centre, but tomorrow it could be a clothes shop, a school classroom, or an architectural studio.

Wood also has a lot to contribute to the professional world. Because where there is wood, there is life. And when it is mixed with projects made with soul, like Argia, the result can only be beautiful. And full of light.
